Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, producing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by significant hail.

Victorian Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand residents in Victoria also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred emergency reports across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing - multiple assistance requests
- Wyndham - over 175 emergency requests
At one point on the previous day, in excess of 28k power users in the state were lacking electricity.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were expected to linger along significant areas of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across multiple regions of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
